A narrative adventure game created by Simon Mesnard, initially for Yaz Jam IV in a limited amount of time (~1 month between July 1st and August 30).  The theme of the Jam was to make a game using AI tools.

The World is Strange takes place in a human colony at the outskirts of another galaxy. The main character is Maeve, a young woman who has lost her parents and lives alone peacefully in her small house. She will soon be joined by her best friend Lily, and they will both have to investigate in the colony and a few other places.
Everything begins with a terrible nightmare. Then on the same day Maeve finds an old photo album that belonged to her parents, and the content is quite unusual. She's going to try to learn more about the photos with Lily, but soon they will face a much more complicated situation...

When Simon/"The Icehouse" creates a game, even a simple gamejam project, it's always of an impressive scale! Here, we have a rich universe, original characters, varied puzzles, several places that can be visited, several characters with which to interact, a point/click interface using keyboard + mouse, an integration of 3D characters, several quests to complete, ... all for a game that leaves you impatiently waiting for a sequel. What to say ? That it would take an independent team a year to do what one man here managed to do in just a few weeks. Obviously, it’s an eye-full!

Thanks a lot Yaz for the great comment!
